A Comparative and Analytical Study of the Literary Style of the Torah and the Qur'an
Abstract
The Torah and the Qur'an are both divine scriptures, yet their styles diverge significantly in linguistic expression, narrative techniques, and thematic focus. The Torah is rich in stories and examples, often emphasizing events and figures, while the Qur'an focuses on moral lessons, spiritual reflection, and guidance. The Qur'anic style is renowned for its eloquence, depth, and ability to captivate both heart and mind, avoiding unnecessary details to highlight the essence of events. The Qur'an's challenge to humanity to replicate its literary style reinforces its divine nature, as no one has succeeded in matching its unmatched eloquence. This paper examines the stylistic differences between the Torah and the Qur'an, emphasizing the unique attributes of the Qur'anic style as a timeless, miraculous revelation.
