Injaz al-Hajjah Sharh Sunan Ibn Majah: A Research Review in the Context of Hadith Sourcing
Abstract
This paper analyzes the comprehensive efforts of the commentator in the "Injaz l-Hajjah" explanation of Sunan Ibn Majah, highlighting his detailed sourcing approach, which extends beyond the confines of Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. The study emphasizes the commentator's extensive reliance on a wide array of Hadith collections, including but not limited to the two Sahihs and the four Sunan. Key aspects include sourcing from Muwatta Imam Malik, the works of Imam Shafi'i, and references to Musnad Ahmad, as well as the writings of Imam Bayhaqi and Imam Tabrani. The research further explores the utilization of various other pivotal sources, such as Musnad al-Shamiyeen, Sahih Ibn Hibban, Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah, Sharh Ma'ani al-Athar by al-Tahawi, Al-Muntaka by Ibn al-Jarud, Imam Bagawi's Sharh al-Sunnah, and Imam Zailai's Nasb al-Rayah. The findings underscore the significance of both extensive and concise sourcing in the field of Hadith scholarship.
