Abstract

This analytical study delves into the shared jurisprudential aspects of two eminent Islamic scholars, Imam Taimiyyah and Imam Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyya. Both scholars, renowned for their contributions to Islamic jurisprudence, exhibit notable similarities in their legal theories and methodologies. The research aims to identify and elucidate these commonalities by examining their interpretative approaches, their views on legal principles, and their methodologies in deriving legal rulings. By comparing their works, particularly their interpretations of the Quran and Hadith, this study highlights the coherence in their jurisprudential frameworks. It explores their approaches to key issues such as the application of Qiyas (analogy), Istihsan (juridical preference), and the role of Ijma (consensus) in Islamic law. The analysis also covers their shared emphasis on the principles of justice, equity, and the contextual application of legal rulings. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how their combined perspectives have shaped contemporary Islamic legal thought and practice, offering valuable insights for scholars and practitioners in the field of Islamic jurisprudence.
