Abstract

Baitul-Mal is an Islamic institution whose aim is to help the welfare of the people and the needy. This institution is based on Islamic teachings, and is based on the instructions found in the Qur'an and Hadith. Pakistani Baitul-Mal is the continuation of this tradition, whose role is important in terms of establishment of Islamic welfare state and assistance to the deserving. Here is an analysis of Pakistani Bait Al-Mal in the light of Quran and Hadith. Bayt Al-Mal literally means "house of wealth", i.e. a place where wealth is collected and then distributed according to the needs of the people. is In Islamic history, Bait al-Mal was established during the reign of Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab, where zakat, sadaqah, tribute, and other financial resources were collected and spent for public welfare. Emphasis is placed on proper utilization and establishment of welfare system. The following verses are important in this regard: Surah Al-Tawba (9:60) mentions the beneficiaries of Zakat, including the poor, the poor, and other needy people. This verse justifies the establishment of Bait al-Mal that there must be a system of financial resources to help the weaker sections of the society. Surah Al-Baqarah (2:177) mentions moral and financial spending. The Qur'an made it clear that spending money is a part of faith and that money should be spent on those who are in need. The concept and principles of Bait al-Mal have been highlighted in detail in the hadiths of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. : "The best of you is he who spends his wealth in the way of Allah and helps people." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever is responsible for the affairs of the people, he should distribute the wealth of the treasury among those who deserve it and should not commit any kind of betrayal." (Sahih Muslim) These hadiths emphasize that the wealth of the Bait Al-Mal should be used for the welfare of the people, and there is no room for betrayal. is run. It aims to eradicate poverty, help the needy, and promote economic justice.
