Appointment of non-Muslims to Administrative Positions during Andalusian Muslim Rule
Abstract
There are historical evidences of the appointment of non-Muslims to government positions during the Andalusian Muslim rule. From which it is clear that the Muslim rulers never kept away suitable non-Muslims from high government administrative positions due to personal preference and prejudice. The era of Muslim Spain is the era of the rise of Muslims. If Muslims were bigoted, the teachings of Islam were in favor of discrimination, non-Muslims could never have been appointed to administrative positions, but Islam has breadth, not narrowness. Tolerance is not hatred and the proof of this is the Muslim rule of Spain.
