The Role of Christianity in the Stability of Pakistan
Abstract
Christianity is the largest religious minority in Pakistan. A large number of Christians are seen performing services in every private and public sector of Pakistan. Christianity has a special importance in the world of religions. It is the world’s largest and most widely practiced religion, with approximately 2.4 billion adherents, making up about 31.2% of the world population. This Semitic religion in Pakistan have played an important role in the various sectors, especially in the field of education, health, and social service. Christian missionaries in Pakistan have done significant services in the field of education. Several well-known educational institutions, such as Farman Christian College in Lahore and St. Patrick's College in Karachi, have been established by the Christian community. These institutions provide quality education to students of not only Christian but also different religions. Christian missionaries have also played a major role in the health sector in Pakistan. Various hospitals, such as the Mayo Hospital in Lahore, are the result of the services of the Christian community. These hospitals provide treatment to people of all faiths. Christian organizations have also been active in social services in Pakistan, such as helping the poor, caring for homeless children, and women's rights. This community has also played an important role in promoting interfaith harmony in Pakistan. They have been active in spreading the message of peace and tolerance among people of different religions. Overall, the Christian community of Pakistan has contributed to the development and stability of the country in various fields.
